What Makes Centered: Richmond Different From Other Acu Clinics

Most acupuncturists treat symptoms. We dig deeper.

At Centered, every patient gets a thorough diagnostic workup rooted in Chinese medicine and informed by modern research. That means we’re not just placing needles where it hurts — we’re identifying the root pattern behind your symptoms and building a treatment strategy around it.

We also offer Chinese herbal medicine, orthopedic acupuncture for musculoskeletal issues, and gentle electro-stimulation therapies. Everything is tailored to you.

If acupuncture isn’t the right fit, we’ll tell you honestly — and help you find someone who can help.

Our Provider: Maegan N. Hodge, Licensed Acupuncturist

You could say I’ve got skin in the game. Being sick or in pain can zap your well-being quickly! I understand because I’ve struggled with pain and illness myself – this gives my clinic its edge. I know from personal experience that acupuncture, herbal practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and supporting “chi” (another term for the body’s energy and exchange of gasses) can save the day for many of those struggling with health conditions. TCM provides a unique, holistic view of health that provides the boost that many patients need.

I have been licensed since 2011, and my acupuncture center has been open since 2014. Over the years, I have helped thousands of patients with natural pain relief, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, hormonal symptoms, and more.

At Centered, we love working to help reduce the symptoms of various medical conditions. Our team makes working in tandem with other medical providers’ treatment plans a primary objective.

Real Patients, Real Results

“From the intake form to the consultation, she went into my whole history and was connecting the dots in a way no western doctor has done before. I’ve already been able to wean myself off of prescription painkillers after 3 weeks.” — Bunmi E.

“She said the words, ‘I can absolutely help you.’ I hadn’t had that kind of hope in a while.” — Chad C.

“I have been more than pleasantly surprised by the huge improvement acupuncture has made!” — Laura B.

I'm so glad I found Megan and Centered Acupuncture. I had a total knee replacement in 2018 and after a year, still wasn't recovered. The knee remained swollen, stiff, and painful. After just the first session with Megan I had much more freedom of movement in the knee. Now after two months, the knee is just a little tight. I can live with that. Thank you Megan for giving me more relief than the physical therapy did. If any other issues flare up (like my back), I will definitely call Megan first.

Maegan is the best at what she does! Everyone should have an acupuncturist as part of their health regime.

I waited a month after treatment to give my review to assess if the treatment worked. I started attending RVA Acupuncture in December, I went for approximately 2 months. It was my first time going to an Acupuncturist. I must say I feel better than before I started even a few weeks after treatment ended. Vicky really cares about her patients, she has a good group of staff working with her. It is a bit pricey, however it is worth it for better health (the only reason I did not give 5 star was the price). I maybe go back towards the end of spring for another issue. Thanks.
